The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) announced on Tuesday that Karachi would continue to experience strong and gusty winds, leading to a decrease in temperature until the evening. These windy conditions are attributed to the presence of westerly waves affecting Balochistan and Sindh.
According to the Met Department, the winds are blowing from the northeast at speeds ranging between 34 to 36 kilometres per hour, with gusts reaching up to 45 km per hour. In Karachi, the morning temperature on Tuesday was recorded at 17°C.
Additionally, the PMD has forecasted thunderstorms and snowfall over hills in Balochistan and upper regions of the country for Tuesday. Earlier predictions from the Met Office suggested that a westerly wave would enter Balochistan on February 25, impacting various parts of the country on February 26. This weather system is expected to bring rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall over hills to the affected areas.
