The Masjid Al Haram in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, recently witnessed an extraordinary gathering of worshippers, estimated at 2.5 million people from across the globe, converging for Taraweeh Prayers on the 27th night of Ramadan 1445. From the early hours of Friday morning, the streets leading to the mosque teemed with worshippers as they assembled for Isha, Taraweeh, and Qiyamul Layl prayers. Sheikh Sudais, the esteemed Imam at Masjid Al Haram, led the prayers and offered special supplications, orchestrating a deeply spiritual experience for all present. The scene inside the grand mosque was awe-inspiring, with worshippers filling every available space, including the floors, courtyard, and corridors. To accommodate the massive crowd, extensive arrangements were put in place, including the expansion of tawaf capacity, provision of Quran copies in various languages, and meticulous cleaning, ventilation, and air conditioning protocols. Moreover, the introduction of 5,000 golf carts through the “Tanaqol” app facilitated movement within the mosque premises, ensuring convenience and ease of access for worshippers. Rigorous disinfection measures, stationed supervisors at entrances, and clear guidance for worshippers contributed to a seamless experience, fostering an atmosphere conducive to prayer, reflection, and spiritual growth.
