The automobile market dynamics in Pakistan underwent significant shifts in March 2024. Suzuki implemented price hikes across its range, including the top variant of the Suzuki Swift, partly in response to the increased GST rate of 25%. Conversely, Toyota Pakistan took a different approach by reducing the prices of its 1300cc Toyota Yaris model by up to Rs. 133,000. This move by Toyota resulted in a notable change in the pricing hierarchy between the Suzuki Swift and the Toyota Yaris. Previously, in March 2023, the Toyota Yaris was priced higher than the Suzuki Swift. However, with the recent adjustments, the situation has flipped, and the Suzuki Swift now commands a higher price tag compared to the 1300cc variants of the Toyota Yaris.
