The Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) has achieved a significant breakthrough in the agricultural sector by introducing a new category of wheat seeds aimed at enhancing wheat production on barren lands across the country. This innovative initiative was unveiled in Faisalabad, marking a milestone in Pakistan’s agricultural development.
The newly introduced wheat seeds were showcased at an awareness exhibition organized in Faisalabad, where farmers and agricultural experts were educated about their potential benefits. According to Dr. Niyaz Khoro, these seeds have the capability to substantially increase wheat production on barren lands, offering up to 30 times more yield compared to previous seeds.
The introduction of these seeds holds promise for transforming millions of hectares of barren land into productive agricultural areas, provided they are made readily available to the general public. In addition to the new seeds, the exhibition also highlighted non-toxic agrochemicals and affordable alternatives to urea fertilizers, further contributing to agricultural sustainability and productivity.
This initiative by the PAEC signifies a significant step forward in addressing agricultural challenges in Pakistan and underscores the importance of innovation and research in enhancing food security and agricultural productivity.
