The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) have submitted nomination papers for Shehbaz Sharif and Omar Ayub, respectively, for the upcoming elections of the Prime Minister or Leader of the House in the National Assembly. The nomination papers have been approved, and the elections are scheduled for Sunday at 11 am. Shehbaz, backed by the MQM-P, Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party, and PPP, is expected to have a smooth election process. Meanwhile, Ayub lacks the necessary support, making his prospects challenging. The election for the Prime Minister’s office is set for March 3, followed by the election of a new head of state on March 9, concluding President Arif Alvi’s tenure.
