After an illustrious career spanning 15 years, Javeria Khan, the right-handed batter, has announced her retirement from international cricket. Her journey began with her ODI debut in Kurunegala, Sri Lanka, during a Women’s Asia Cup fixture against Sri Lanka on May 6, 2008, followed by her T20I debut against Ireland in Dublin in 2009, as stated in a press release issued by the PCB. Throughout her tenure, Javeria has been a stalwart of the Pakistan women’s team, representing her country in 228 international matches. Her contribution to the team’s success has been immense, accumulating a total of 4,903 runs, including two centuries and 25 half-centuries. Beyond her prowess with the bat, she showcased her versatility by claiming 28 international wickets. Notably, Javeria holds the distinction of being the second leading run-scorer in ODIs and T20Is for the Pakistan women’s team. She also stands as the only women’s cricketer from Pakistan to have scored over 2,000 runs in each format, alongside Bismah Maroof.
