The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is currently in the midst of an active search for a new coach for the national cricket team, and former South African player Gary Kirsten has emerged as a leading candidate. Following initial discussions with Mike Hesson and Shane Watson, Kirsten’s name has gained prominence in the coaching selection process. Reports suggest that the PCB has extended an offer to Kirsten, aged 56, for a long-term coaching position, with Kirsten now taking time to deliberate on the offer. Renowned for his coaching stints with both the Indian and South African teams, Kirsten brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the table, making him a highly sought-after contender for the role. Additionally, the PCB has also reached out to Luke Ronkey, the assistant coach of New Zealand, regarding the coaching vacancy. Ronkey is currently reviewing the offer and is expected to provide a response in due course. As the PCB continues its pursuit of a new coach, the selection process reflects a concerted effort to secure top-tier talent capable of guiding the national team to success on the international stage.
