On March 25, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Uzbekistan Angren District Rochi Energy Storage Project marked a significant milestone in China’s overseas investments. Spearheaded by the China Energy Construction Group, this project represents the largest single-unit electrochemical energy storage endeavor undertaken by China abroad. This pioneering initiative heralds a new era for Uzbekistan’s energy infrastructure, promising substantial advancements in power capabilities. Spanning approximately 6 hectares, the project will harness lithium iron phosphate batteries to establish a robust 150-megawatt power configuration, complemented by a formidable 300-megawatt-hour battery energy storage system. With such impressive specifications, this endeavor is poised to enhance energy stability and resilience while propelling Uzbekistan towards a sustainable and efficient energy future.
