In the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine, former English cricketer and current spin bowling coach for Multan Sultans, Alex Hartley, is making waves by breaking barriers. Hartley recently disclosed her participation in fasting during Ramadan, aligning herself with the team’s observance. Expressing a desire to deeply empathize with the Sultans’ players, she chose to undergo fasting herself.
“It’s Ramadan, and the players are fasting. So, I felt it was important to understand how they’re feeling when they come to the game. I think it’s only fair that if the players are doing it, I should join them [in fasting],” she shared with BBC 5 Live Sport.
Adapting to the fasting routine, Hartley highlighted the day-long challenges she faces, including adjusting her eating schedule and sleep patterns to synchronize with the team’s practices and game timings. Her dedication to experiencing fasting firsthand showcases her commitment to understanding and supporting her team members during this significant period.
